SoftArtisans is looking for a talented Systems Administrator with excellent problem-solving and communication skills to join our IT Team. As a Systems Administrator, you’ll provide help desk support to internal users, troubleshoot problems, and assist with network and server administration. You will provide assistance with the procurement and inventory of hardware and software. Design and implementation of IT projects as well as improving daily IT procedures and methods will be part of this role for the ideal candidate. |

Things we're looking for:
|
|
|
 |
2 – 3 years administration experience with Windows 2003/2008 Servers; Active Directory and Platforms |
 |
|
|
Virtualization methodologies (Hyper-V required; VMware a plus) |
|
|
|
|
Experience with Microsoft Exchange, IIS and SQL Server required |
|
|
 |
Experience with Dell Hardware & Cisco Networking; Strong understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls, switches, routers and general networking methodologies |
|
|
|
|
Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities with ability to prioritize |
|
|
|
|
Exceptional internal/external communication skills |
|
|
|
|
Driven and motivated to learn new technology and practices quickly |
|
|
|
|
|
Bonus points awarded for:

Windows scripting experience (VBScript, WSH, WMI, PS) |

What's the job like?

This is not a typical administrator job. As a Systems Administrator at SoftArtisans, you will serve as a key internal resource for troubleshooting and resolving issues. Diagnosis may not look good, but you are the person that understands the solution must be delivered and as soon as possible! In addition to successful resolution of daily issues for the team, you will be asked to assist in the design and implementation of IT projects. This role is ideal for the individual that is looking to take their administration experience to the next level. |

We are encouraged to pursue our individual interests, with hackathons in which we exclusively work on personal projects or pick up new skills. In one such hackathon our team members built an image preview Google Gadget, an HTML 5 uploader with animation, a new plug-in for Confluence and an Android application to get directions to and from local bars at the touch of a button. We also hold various after work activities ranging from a game of soccer or frisbee in a nearby park to kayaking down the Charles River or weekly Yoga classes and our annual company retreat. |
