SoftArtisans .NET Initiative

.NET provides a terrific environment to extend our current offerings from non-UI based to both non-UI and rich UI-based controls for thin clients (Web browsers). SoftArtisans will offer server controls (UI) in addition to our current non-UI controls.

SoftArtisans Products Work with .NET Today

All of our products today work with the current builds of ASP.NET. In fact, at Microsoft's request, all of our standard COM components are part of Microsoft's QA build and test cycle of ASP.NET to ensure compatibility for our mutual customers. Product-specific details:

• FileUp Standard Edition works fully with ASP.NET and supports ADO.NET's DataReader and DataTable objects. FileUp's new ISAPI filter overcomes the memory limitations of ASP.NET, allowing you to upload up to 4 GB. Check out our working samples using ASP.NET on our public demo site.
  
  
• WordWriter is a high performance .NET assembly that creates Microsoft Word documents on a Web server from an existing Word template file and a data source. Working samples using ASP.NET are on our public demo site.
  
  
• ExcelWriter works with the current ASP.NET through interop with a pure .NET product arriving before the end of the year. Working samples using ASP.NET are on our public demo site.
  
  
• XFile is a client-side products that does not need any specific support for ASP.NET.
  
  
• SMTPmail can be used through interop and maintains all of the product's rich functionality.
