Software Engineer

Required skills:

Developer Support Specialist/.NET Web Application Developer

SoftArtisans is looking for a Web programmer with excellent problem-solving and communication skills needed to join the SoftArtisans Technical Services team. Support Specialists provide technical support and professional services to our customer base of developers who are using our APIs to add functionality to their ASP.NET applications. This is not a typical support position. You will be supporting only programmers, constantly solving complex problems, and spending a significant amount of your time writing code. The support engineer position can be a stepping stone to other roles within the company.

Required skills:

• 1 to 2 years server-side web programming experience
• ASP.NET, Classic ASP, or J2EE/Servlets/JSP
• Strong understanding of OOP and core web technologies including HTTP
• Creative thinker with superb troubleshooting skills
• Self-motivated, fast learner
• Able to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly
• Enjoys technology and working with people
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Main responsibilities include:

• Writing sample code and demo applications
• Debugging customers' code
• Troubleshooting and reproducing issues
• Liaison between product development team and customers for issues and feature requests
• Educating customers on the use of our APIs
• Documenting known issues

• Consulting projects: custom web application development for customers
• Internal development projects

The Challenge

• Develop and manage objectives, strategies and tactics to increase revenue, market share, usage and awareness of SoftArtisans products
• Penetrate and develop business of existing customers

Your Expertise

• Solid, strategic sales experience within a third-party environment
• Proven success qualifying, driving and closing new partnerships in a related industry
• High-caliber analytical skills for business issues and an ability to think strategically
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Clear understanding of – and empathy for- the issues a company faces when making a “buy v. build” technology decision
• Demonstrated understanding of what it takes to successfully deploy third-party software in a vendor environment
• Experience in the High Tech industry required
